Since early man first picked up a bright yellow nugget, to our modern day mining ventures, countless hours and agonies have prevailed as man struggles to release this precious metal from its hiding place, whether it lies on the surface as alluvial or buried deep within mother earth.Violence, greed, power, riches, all have conspired to truly make gold the commodity that controls the economy of the world and the hedge against inflation for millions of people. Since gold lasts forever, one might think all of the gold used over the centuries, both monetary and decorative, is in safekeeping yet today.
